This was recommended by National Grid's superman Will. He's off to Lanzarote for Triathlon training but he couldn't help sharing his wisdom.
The session was targetted at finding my half marathon race pace and establishing some consistency. Nice idea.
The weather is fab, just a slight breeze but good conditions.
The reps were all sub 6.38, the last being 5.58. Mmmm, I don't think I'll be running that fast on Sunday.
In my book, that's far too intensive an activity to be doing this close to a race. High injury risk, little upside, and now you're on a pace downer. Too boost confidence try 10mins at TRP tomorrow or Friday, then give it a rest until Sunday.

ReplyDeleteAnd that's your taper?
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not it was an easy session. Z3 heart rate and no impact on confidence. I was only going to do a few but they were so comfortable I finished them.
